This blog is now hosted through Digital Ocean!

This blog is no longer hosted on Github pages, but instead on Digital Ocean.

More specifically, this blog, along with 2 of my other sites, are hosted on a Digital Ocean droplet. That droplet is running Ubuntu Server with Nginx. I’m still in the process of setting it all up, so this site may go down frequently in the next few days. I am having some problems with Certbot and getting SSL on my domains (so as of now, this site will probably still be served over http).

Once I get it all set up, I’ll write a post documenting my experiences.

Possible changes?

Moving from Github Pages, a static host, to a host where I can manage my own server; I have a lot more options now. I’d still like to keep this site static, for load times. However, having my own server gives me the option to experiment with writing serverside code, which I really haven’t done too much but would like to experiment with.

Also, now that I don’t have a limit on how many subdomains I can have, I might rework that. I was thinking about using the following setup for this site:

That’s all for now, I’ll write up a post when I complete the transfer and setup of my server!
